The four cardinal masculine traits are:
- strength (physical, mental, emotional, related to health)
- courage (physical, moral, etc.)
- mastery (excellent providers by being skilled at work, sports, music, relationships, defense, etc.)
- honor (respect, especially from peers)
Negatives include things that emasculate a man:

substance abuse issues, uncontrolled gambling, poor impulse control, poor management of emotions, (shows weakness)

Foolishness, especially with women

past failed relationships (everybody’s got some of them, but too many show a lack of mastery of the skills of relationships and perhaps a lack of mental strength).

debt (shows lack of providing ability and/or lack of self-control which is a lack of mental strength)
Other SMV promoting virtues that are universal include things such as:

honesty (intolerance of lies)

intelligence

reasonableness
-
mental stability (this could be under health and covered in strength)

wants children

comes from a great family that will be around to help with child rearing and pressure the couple to work things out rather than divorce
