Sometimes people do not take your advice.
She was twenty-seven, intelligent, more than averagely attractive, and she wanted to marry and start a family. I met the man she was dating. I was not impressed. I told her she could do better. He was immature, deeply anxious, and carried that simmering “Mr. Nice Guy” aggression that eventually erupts.
She told me there was simply no one better, that there was a shortage of men willing to take responsibility, grow up, or be a husband and father.
They married. She became pregnant within a few months. The baby was born, and now they are separated, moving toward divorce.
Almost every divorce is predictable, if you know what you are looking for. And I do.
