Our ancestors would have considered an effeminate man to be a failure, a waste of resources, and an embarrassment.

The failure was laid at the feet of his father, his community, and the man himself. Because of this, all cultures had programs to masculinize boys into men. We did it because we cared about boys and men.

All children are born cognitively feminine; most men (and a tiny handful of women) mature into the cognitively masculine. At least that used to be the case.

About 20% of men will grow up to become strongly cognitively masculine, no matter the environment they are raised in. They have the genes for high testosterone and disagreeability that override their potentially disastrous upbringing.

Another 60% of men are easily trained into the habits of mind and body that are required of the cognitively masculine.

A final 20% of men lack the ability to fully develop into mature, masculine men capable of taking on responsibility and participating responsibly in society.

We have failed to help the last several generations of boys transition into men, leading to the most effeminate culture in all of human history. The 60% of men who need external masculinization have not received the help they need.

Without masculine vigor, our culture cannot rise to the massive challenges that we now face.
