Obedience is not a virtue for free men It is what masters expect of animals and slaves Obtained through violence and manipulation

Cooperation is a virtue It requires people with Agency to voluntarily strive for the same set of goals Obtained through persuasion

When you demand obedience from your children you diminish their Agency, undermine their personhood & make them susceptible to the next tyrant

When you persuade your children to cooperate with your family plan you increase their Agency and immunise them against tyranny
