In 1974, young Portuguese men had a choice. Go to war with African terrorists (Russian and Chinese proxies) or go to war with their own nation’s government.
They chose to fight the war at home.
Today, the leftists will say it was 100% political. But I have spoken to people from that time who said it was more a matter of practical survival. Their government was wasting lives and treasure over the seas and wouldn’t stop until it was made to stop.
If you push a bunch of armed young men into a corner and give them no choice but to fight you, you get a revolution. It becomes inevitable.
