Under polygamy every woman has a man, but many men are left womanless, this is why historically more women supported it

Monogamy exists (in the west) because MEN demanded it in exchange for their investment into the commons

As women gained more and more power they have renegotiated the deal

Right now we have a mix of polygamy and monogamy

Some men have one wife (at a time) and a handful of children

Some men have multiple partners at once (with out without children)

Many men have no women at all

Polygamy is destabilising because it favours aggressive men & leaves many men disconnected, without a chance to have a family

Monogamy brings stability because more men are invested in maintaining the status quo

We currently have millions of hungry sexless men
