Modern western culture has done a great job of suppressing predatory violence and a TERRIBLE job of suppressing predatory manipulation

Our societies are saturated in cradle to grave intense manipulation from every angle

It’s so bad that people EXPECT that they are being lied to

People are afraid to trust each other. This leads to shallow relationships, insecurity and social anxiety

Manipulation destroys trust, which is key to building intimacy and cooperation in families, communities and businesses

Our low trust society is tearing itself apart

There is an old Arab Bedouin saying: “I, against my brothers. I and my brothers against my cousins. I my brothers and my cousins against the world. That is jungle law. It is the way of the world when the world is thrown into chaos.”

Low trust societies are low development, low culture societies

Mean, vicious, hard on weak men, women and children

Trust is required to ensure cooperation and de-incentivise predators from taking what they want from weaker people

What needs to change?

Ending manipulation starts with culture and only later can include law

Example: We can’t restore a high trust civilization until people start ignoring shaming and name calling used as manipulation

This is something that YOU have personal power to change

Progress in developing immunity to manipulation through manipulation via shaming is happening

10 years ago calling a man a misogynist as a tactic to avoid a rational discussion was effective

Most men would melt if they were accused of such a thing, not anymore

Accusations of “misogyny” no longer have any effect on most men, we see it as the manipulation tactic that it is

It was over used during the 2012 and 2016 elections, they burner out the word, no one cares anymore

Now they are doing the same thing with the term “racist”

When everything and everyone is a racist then the word and concept loses all meaning

Just like calling someone a Nazi used to have punch, now its proof you are an overreacting communist nut job

They will certainly come up with replacement mean words, which they will also burn

Becoming immune to insults one word at a time is slow, painful and costly

A better way is to develop broad spectrum immunity to all forms of manipulation and lies
