Competence will not necessarily get men respect from women.

Respect from women is different than attention.

Some guys that other men call losers have women (homeless guy with working GF).

The beta provider gets attention but not respect.

What is respect?

Respect is a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.

Just because you are human doesn’t entitle you to respect.

(Human dignity yes, respect no.)
