If you’re an expert at something, you should write a book about it

If you’re an expert at something, you should write a book about it. Period. Books establish authority, attract opportunities, and create lasting impact.

The problem? For most people, it’s not the subject matter that’s difficult—they know their field well, and they can easily write about it. The real challenge is organizing their thoughts in a way that produces a structured, engaging, and useful book that people actually want to read.

The good news? AI is excellent at recognizing patterns and structuring information. While AI isn’t great at creating original ideas (that’s your job as the expert), it’s extremely effective at helping you polish, organize, and structure the content you generate.

The Best Route: Hire a Professional Ghostwriter

If you want a truly polished, high-impact book, I highly recommend contacting Joshua Lisec (@JoshuaLisec). He’s one of the best ghostwriters in the business and has helped countless experts turn their knowledge into powerful books.

But if hiring a ghostwriter isn’t an option right now—or if you want to prepare your ideas before hiring one—I’ve developed an AI-powered method that makes organizing and writing your book much easier.

AI-Enhanced Book Writing: How It Works

To use this method, you’ll need a paid ChatGPT account (since the free version lacks memory and advanced capabilities). Then, follow this structured approach:

  1. Create a Dedicated Project with Multiple Chats

Each chat serves a specific function, ensuring that your book is well-organized before you start writing. Here’s how to set it up:

Strategy Chat – Defines the overall approach to book creation. Covers workflow, AI collaboration, and adjustments.

Marketing Chat – Focuses on the target audience, positioning, and key messaging. Helps ensure the book resonates with the right readers.

Objectives Chat – Clarifies the book’s purpose, transformation promise, and success criteria.

Tone & Style Chat – Ensures the writing matches the intended audience, using the right complexity level and voice.

Outline Chat – Organizes the entire book’s structure before you start writing. This ensures clarity and logical progression.

✍️ Chapter Chats – Each chapter gets its own dedicated chat, allowing you to focus on one section at a time without cluttering the main outline.

  1. Writing Becomes Simple and Fast

With this system, writing isn’t overwhelming—it’s just a matter of completing one section at a time.

I personally use this method to write a chapter a day in my spare time.

If I dedicated a half-day of focused work, I could complete three chapters in a single day.

If you know your subject well, this method allows you to efficiently turn expertise into a book.

This process does NOT mean having AI write the book for you. You’re still the author. The AI simply acts as your assistant—helping you structure, refine, and polish what you’ve already created.

Of course, there are many other things I do in my writing process that work specifically for me, but I won’t cover them in this post.

Editing: A Separate Challenge

One thing I haven’t yet done is edit a full-length book using AI. Writing individual chapters is easy because they fit within the AI’s memory window. However, editing a complete manuscript will be a separate challenge since the entire book won’t fit into a single AI context window.

In the next month or two, as I finish writing my book, I’ll be experimenting with different AI-assisted editing solutions. Once I figure out an effective approach, I’ll write another post sharing what works best for editing a completed book.

My Current Book: The Power of Agency

I’m currently using this exact method to write my new book on Agency.

Objective: To teach people how to take control of their lives, master their emotions, and become active agents in their own success. 🔹 Target Audience: Men and women who feel stuck, lack direction, or struggle with self-discipline. 🔹 Key Takeaway: Modern society has stripped people of agency, and this book provides a step-by-step system to reclaim it.
