Publicly calling out the public bad behaviour of public figures is essential to keeping our information commons clean

Attempting to apply the rules for private groups of men to the public domain does not work, it only encourages conmen and liars to work unopposed

Personally I prefer to call out the bad behaviour

Teaching people to spot the bad guys and bad ideas on their own so they can call them out themselves

Yet, we used to publicly shame bad people, back when we had a civilisation

We need more of that, not less
