Notice the split in responses.

For some people, violence is so far outside of their scope of experience that they cannot even believe such a thing happened.

Other people grew up in it, and this was a normal experience for them.

If you didn’t grow up with some level of violence as a child, it’s unlikely that you will ever see it as an option as an adult. If you did, it would never stop being an option.

Ideally, childhood violence would be structured, such as martial arts, boxing with friends, or sports. Still, there is no substitute for boys facing bullies as a child, especially if you have supportive family behind you.
