If you have boys they might like a monthly “slop contest”.

The goal is to make the ugliest, most disgusting looking food that still tastes great. Eventually the boys have to make some too.

My grandfather started this tradition by cooking a cows tongue for my father and his siblings then serving it on a plate in as unappetising manner as he could think of.

We also did it as “army stew” which was everything we could find in a pot. It always looked gross and tasted great.
