If you can’t hold your parents accountable for the decisions that they made in raising you, then you will never be able to hold yourself accountable for the decisions you make in raising your children.

Part of being a mature adult and a good parent is being able to look objectively at the things that your parents did and the decisions that they made, and being able to measure out what was good and what was bad about it.

We need to be able to have that discernment, honesty and courage in order to improve our parenting.
