A number of years ago I met a couple who were both short, fat, ugly, not very smart and quite poor, yet they and their two children were very happy and contented with their lot in life.

Their marriage was solid. They loved each other deeply and passionately.

According to most popular relationship advice neither of them should have been able to land a mate. They should have lost weight, dressed better and earned more money before they thought about dating.

They found a different path to happiness.

Would they have been better off tall, fit, beautiful, smart and wealthy? Of course they would. It’s always better to be better however each one of us must learn to create a happy life with what we have.

This humble couple learned to accept themselves and each other in love.
