Raising Dangerous Sons

One of the most important messages for your young sons is “you are very strong, be careful not to accidentally hurt anyone, especially those who are smaller than you.”

It programs your sons to think of themselves as naturally strong, which will lead to reinforcing behaviour that makes them grow up even stronger.

And, it helps them to develop consciousness of their physical potentional. They learn 1) “I can hurt people” and 2)“I should be careful who I hurt”. Both lessons are valuable.

We want to raise dangerous sons, but we want that aggression channelled in prosocial ways. The way we speak to them and the examples we demonstrate are key to achieving that goal.
