"I'll try" means "I plan to fail
“I’ll try” means “I plan to fail.”
It’s the wrong kind of self-hypnosis.
When you hear it, know that the person who says it will not do what they promise, even if they feel like they want to. Make them speak the truth by asking them to rephrase it positively or retract their promise.
If you say “I’ll try”, stop. Start saying, “No, I will not do that” or “yes, I will do it.”
