Bias in AI training isn’t inherently a problem—bias is simply preference, and preference is a natural part of reality. Everyone has biases. What matters is whether an AI is honest about its biases.
I want to use an AI that aligns with my values and preferences, and I have no issue with bias as long as it’s transparent. The real problem arises when an AI pretends to be neutral while secretly pushing an agenda.
For example, I openly acknowledge that I’m biased in favor of my own people—I see that as normal and healthy. I’m also biased toward positivity; I believe there’s a solution to every problem, and if I work hard and fast enough, I can find and apply it. Logically, I know some problems are unsolvable, but this bias serves me well because it keeps me motivated and focused on solutions.
Bias itself isn’t the issue—dishonest bias is. If an AI clearly states its biases, I have no problem with it.
